Now that song by Bobbie Gentry, “Ode to Billie Joe” is playing over and over in my head! There was a line, “…and Mama hollered out the back door, ‘Y’all remember to wipe your feet.'” Loved and still love that song. It’s on my mp3 player!!!

A BLT sounds really good. In fact, now I know what to fix for breakfast tomorrow morning so that we’re eating something different! I LOVE fried green tomatoes, but it’s hard to find them out here in the ‘burbs. I’ll have to venture into the city to get my hands on some of those beauties!

Fun post! Have a great week! (Visiting viz Christine’s “Table It!” blog party)

Alycia, now you have that song in my head! I have always loved it and its dead on southern. You should go to a Farmer’s Market if you want some good tomatoes!

Love this so much, yes that is the southern way. Here is Southern California it would be heirloom tomatoes $4.99 pound, diet pepsi and maybe turkey bacon, o yea and the lettuce would be arugula. I like your version better. O’Reilly can put my husband asleep also.

Wanda, oh that’s bad! Most southerners either grow their tomatoes or know someone that does. A whole lot of diet drinks drank too but I didn’t think they would sound as authentic. But I imagine they sell more diet than regular! California is just too healthy! Ha!

What a cute post! You’re right — pure Southern! Love all your white and blue – and oh! those beautiful flowers! Shame we don’t know each other – we would be fast friends! Ok, off to fix that BLT for lunch!

Good Afternoon Jan, I love blue and white and your hydrangeas are so very pretty. Now here in England, a bacon sandwich, would be two slices of bread which have been buttered. The bacon is then grilled. Four or five good thick rashers of bacon would then be placed on one slice of buttered bread, with the second slice of bread sitting neatly on top. The bread would then be cut into two, or four as in my case and the warm bacon would melt the butter…. my mouth is watering and there is not a bacon sandwich in sight.
    Have a lovely day.
    Best Wishes
