What a beautiful mansion! I love all the interior photos! It is such a shame that it has been allowed to deteriorate so much. I wish I could have seen it when it was at its peak. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Judith! I was there a couple of times but I only really remember the tour. It had gone down and was needing repair but you could not deny the beauty of it. The porch is absolutely huge and the staircase was so impressive in person. There were bedrooms set back directly under the staircase that were not part of the tour and it was very dark in that area. (Lack of any natural light and poorly lit) It was very mysterious and could give you goose bumps! But with the right owner wanting to live in a small Southern town and wanting an absolute showcase of a home it would be perfect. I hate to see these homes go down. This house is huge inside and perfect for any kind of social gatherings.

What a beautiful house! It makes me want to cry when I see beautiful places so full of history being neglected. It is so sad. Thanks for sharing. I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!

What a beauty! Hopefully someone with the time and money to pour into it will fall in love with it. Can’t you just imagine it all restored?

Lisa, it is beyond anything I can describe. I wish I had more to share on this house. I do so hope someone takes a big interest in it and brings it back to its glory.

Such a shame to see such a fine example of architecture go to ruin. It doesn’t take long either, once moisture enters through a faulty window or a leaking roof, it is all over. Thanks so much for the tour. Hopefully a preservation effort will save it, soon. Sandi

Thanks Sandi. It would be wonderful to see it brought back. It’s a well know house here and I know all the residents would love to see it flourishing again.

Look at the history just sitting there waiting for the right buyer! I hope and pray for the good of your whole town that someone buys it.
